My name is Athena Rees
Nature inspires me. The amazement of a sunrise. The finality of a sunset. The explicitness of life in its raw natural form. The surprise of an unexpectedly captured moment forever engraved in still form that we can look back on with wonder.
I love being out in nature. I love all seasons but have a great fondness for Autumn and Winter. My photography was born out of that. I attempt to capture the world as I see it with my camera. I can never seem to capture the moment as fully as I see it, but I keep trying. I am located in the Midwest of the USA and that is where most of my photography originates. We have all four seasons and the weather is known for extremes within small time frames. This gives us things like tornadoes and hoar frost. It also births beautiful sunrises and sunsets which are my biggest passion. I love to capture moments with animals, birds, bugs, and all things nature. I have been known to travel to the beach and mountains too. Hopefully in the future I can add more of those locations to my portfolio.
